			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is a well known fact that keeping fit is crucial to maintaining overall health. This is true for everybody  : men and women, young and old. It is also true for plus-sized women.</p>
<p>Some people believe that if they are overweight, they cannot exercise. Sometimes, women who are uncomfortable about their size feel embarrassed to be physically active.</p>
<p>The truth is that larger women can and should exercise. The benefits will include increased levels of energy, lower blood pressure, cardiovascular workout, muscle and bone strengthening. Exercise can also bring a feeling of wellbeing and increased levels of confidence. In order to maximize the benefits of exercise, there are some important points to remember.</p>
<p>1. Exercise a few times a week<br />
Try to exercise at least three times a week for a minimum of twenty minutes at a time. The frequency of your exercise sessions is important. The more often you exercise, the greater the benefits.</p>
<p>2. Be creative!<br />
Vary your workouts and keep them interesting. Go for a brisk walk with a friend. Try aqua-aerobics. Join a women&#8217;s gym. Choose a form of exercise that is comfortable yet challenging for your body and your fitness level.</p>
<p>3. Keep hydrated<br />
Drink lots of water. This may seem obvious, but it is easy to forget to drink the amount of water you will need to maintain a healthy workout. Keep a bottle of water beside you and take small sips before, during and after your workout.</p>
<p>4. Think comfort<br />
Wear comfortable, loose fitting garments that will allow freedom of movement. If possible, wear cotton clothing as the natural fibers will allow your skin to breathe and ensure maximum comfort. Make sure your footwear is supportive and suitable to your choice of exercise.</p>
<p>5. Start and finish the right way<br />
Warm up before you begin and cool down at the end of each exercise session. This is extremely important. You can do this by performing some simple stretching exercises. These will help to prevent injury and will gradually ease your body into the workout, and will relax you afterwards.</p>
<p>As with any fitness program, it is advised to consult with your doctor before you begin.</p>
<p>When your motivation level is low, and you are finding it difficult to be enthusiastic about exercise, remember that exercise is a gift you can give your body and yourself. The benefits are both physiological and psychological, and remember: the more you exercise, the more you will want to exercise, as you begin to feel the positive results.</p>

And worse, you&#8217;re afraid of failure because you&#8217;ve started workout routines in the past and somehow never stuck with them.</p>
<p>I inserted a quote on my website which I absolutely love because it really is the key to success. Jim Rohn once said &#8220;Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment&#8221;. Before starting an exercise routine it&#8217;s important to understand that discipline is really all you need to accomplish any goal you choose, whether it&#8217;s fitness, weight loss or a job promotion. Once you&#8217;re disciplined there&#8217;s no doubt that you will succeed.</p>
<p>To help you get started I&#8217;ve outlined some fitness tips that have proven to be extremely beneficial.</p>
<p>•  Get Motivated—As with any lifestyle change, success is only possible if you are motivated to make that change and are willing to do so for you. Get yourself into the mindset that says &#8220;I can do this and I will succeed.&#8221; With the right attitude, failure is impossible and success is the only possible outcome. My former boss always told his employees to avoid using the &#8220;T&#8221; word: &#8220;Try.&#8221; When you say you&#8217;ll &#8220;try&#8221; to do something it really means you&#8217;re not going to do all that you possibly can to successfully reach your goal. Just know that you can do whatever it is you put your mind to, especially when it comes to getting fit.</p>
<p>•  Consult a Physician—Generally, if you&#8217;re under 45 and in good health you probably don&#8217;t need to consult a physician before you begin your exercise routine. If, however, you are over 45 and have any type of medical condition it&#8217;s best to consult your healthcare provider prior to beginning any type of physical activity or exercise program. You&#8217;ll want to avoid doing too much too soon, as this may lead to serious injury.</p>
<p>•  Join a Gym—By joining a gym you are making the commitment to become fit. Don&#8217;t say &#8220;I&#8217;ll start Monday&#8221; because there&#8217;s no time like the present. When you allow yourself the extra time to continue being a couch potato and make the statement that you&#8217;ll begin your exercise routine in a few days what you&#8217;re really saying is &#8220;I&#8217;m not motivated and I&#8217;m just too lazy to make a commitment. Period.&#8221; Go on the Internet and/or open a phone book and start calling local gyms in your area. Once you&#8217;ve visited these facilities and have found one whose equipment is consistent with your workout, join immediately and begin exercising that same day.</p>
<p>•  Consistency is the Key—If you want results from your exercise routine you need to be consistent. In other words, attending your gym five days a week for the first two weeks, taking a week off and then showing up once or twice a week for the next two weeks will simply not bring results. Consistency really is the key to a successful exercise routine. Once you&#8217;ve made the commitment to become fit, you need to be present for that commitment. View exercising as if it&#8217;s a job—something you need to do. Or, look at it this way: if you need dialysis every single day of your life in order to live, you will make the time for your dialysis treatment. Why wouldn&#8217;t you do the same to be healthy and fit?</p>
<p>•  Small Steps to Success—It&#8217;s so very important to keep in mind that every single accomplishment you make, no matter how small or large, is indeed another step toward your success. Your goal may be to look like a super model, but remember that it&#8217;s going to take a succession of small steps before you reach your ultimate goal. It&#8217;s best to measure your success with each small step or accomplishment you make because this will keep you motivated. In other words, if your goal is to lose ten inches from your thighs and you&#8217;ve lost a half-inch after 30 days of exercise, don&#8217;t think of this as a failure because it&#8217;s not; this small step has actually taken you that much closer to successfully reaching your goal.</p>
<p>•  Be Properly Equipped—I can&#8217;t stress enough how much easier your exercise routine will be if you have the proper equipment with you when you arrive at the gym. Here&#8217;s a list of items you&#8217;ll want to have with you when you begin exercising.</p>
<p>1. A small hand towel for excess sweat</p>
<p>2. A pair of safe comfortable running shoes, preferably with a cushioned sole</p>
<p>3. iPod© or small music player (especially good for cardio workouts)</p>
<p>4. Comfortable, cool and stretchy clothing that allows for easy movement</p>
<p>5. Large bottle of very cold water</p>
<p>6. A positive &#8220;can-do&#8221; attitude</p>
<p>Stick with these tips and you&#8217;ll no doubt be feeling and looking exactly as you desire; you will indeed have crossed the bridge and found yourself on the other side &#8211; accomplishment &#8211; there&#8217;s no better feeling.</p>

<p>There are tons of womens health fitness websites some are little more than advertisements but many others provide a terrific supply of information relating to womens issues.  Scientific research, data from studies, health conditions, nutrition, and fitness, as well as prevention and treatment information.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s important for women to get accurate information about issues that directly relate to their health and that includes the latest on womens health fitness.  What was thought the best advice only a year or so ago has now been improved.</p>
<p>For example today it is a well known fact that women suffer heart attacks at the same rate as men but they often present differently to emergency wards to many go undiagnosed.  It has also bee shown that womens health fitness is critical to keeping women healthier especially after menopause when their natural protection dwindles.</p>
<p>Studies have also shown that women health fitness can make a big difference in a womens ability to maintain here weight.  It seems after 40 women get the privilege of a few extra pounds suddenly appearing around the waste line and so with some proper exercise routines you can better defy mother nature.</p>
<p>Womens health fitness is finally getting the same attention that mens has for decades.  Suddenly we realize that besides helping to keep the pounds off women also need to make sure that they are taking care of their cardio workouts.</p>
<p>This brings us to another subject &#8211; weight loss.  For many women this is an ongoing battle that&#8217;s not easy to resolve.  Many would love to convince you that you need all kinds of diet pills to lose those pounds when really what you need is much simpler.  You need to ensure that the calories you are burning exceed the calories you are taking in.</p>
<p>There are plenty of excellent health fitness resource sites for women and there are just as many terrific magazines that are full of helpful exercise tips, nutritional tips, and all kinds of tips to have you looking and feeling great.  And isn&#8217;t that what all women want?  To look and feel their best?</p>
<p>Women may a great deal more attention to how they look and feel then men do.  In general women are much more in tune to the signals their bodies are sending them and they are also much more interested in health fitness and how it affects their overall well being.</p>
<p>Men are more interested in fitness to great a buff, polished look although slowly they are beginning to recognize and understand the value of a cardio workout.  Women on the other hand have long understood how their health fitness and their overall well being were directly related.  And for one to have a terrific overall well being they needed to have a good health fitness ethic.</p>
<p>So the only question that remains is which type of health fitness program best suits your own personal lifestyle and goals.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Pelvic floor fitness is an essential to lifelong physical, sexual and emotional health. Yet this area of the body is often neglected by fitness experts.</p>
<p>Why are the pelvic floor muscles so important, and why should all women do regular exercises to maximise their fitness?</p>
<p>1. Pelvic floor fitness is the best way of beating stress incontinence.<br />
One in three women who have ever had a baby experience stress incontinence at some point in their lives, when ordinary activities such as laughing, sneezing or jumping cause them to lose small amounts of urine. Sometimes the symptoms appear immediately after delivery, but for many women, years pass before they notice they have a problem.</p>
<p>Fortunately, it isn&#8217;t necessary to wear pads for ever. Over two-thirds of women who try pelvic floor exercises &#8211; and do them properly &#8211; are cured of their stress incontinence, without the need for drugs or surgery.</p>
<p>2. Pelvic floor fitness improves sexual response.<br />
Pelvic muscles are directly responsible for the amount of sensation a woman feels during intercourse, and for the amount of grip felt by her partner.</p>
<p>Exercise improves muscle tone which means that the muscle is tighter, so is stretched more during intercourse. Strong, firm muscles have more nerve endings, and more nerve endings mean more sensations.</p>
<p>Rhythmic contractions of the these muscles contribute to arousal the ability to achieve orgasm. Many women report they are able to reach orgasm more easily, and that their orgasms are more powerful, after a pelvic exercise program.</p>
<p>3. Pelvic floor fitness contributes to an easier labour and better recovery after childbirth.<br />
Over half of pregnant woman experience stress incontinence, with symptoms commonly persisting for a year after the birth. Even twelve months later, one woman in five still has symptoms that will worsen over the years.</p>
<p>Pelvic strengthening exercises, either before or during early pregnancy, can significantly reduce the risk of stress incontinence later. Research shows that the strength of these muscles at twenty weeks of pregnancy is an excellent indicator of the likelihood of stress incontinence later.</p>
<p>And the best news of all for pregnant women is that an  exercise program during pregnancy has been shown to have a positive effect on labour.</p>
<p>4. Pelvic floor fitness is an excellent defence against urge incontinence, common amongst women in their later years.<br />
Urge incontinence is the most common form of incontinence in women over 70, leading to major unwanted changes in lifestyle for many women, and even to nursing home admission.</p>
<p>Urge incontinence is a complex problem, with many contributing factors, but a strong muscles increase the chances of successful treatment if it does occur. So commitment to a program of effective pelvic floor exercises in earlier decades can be a woman&#8217;s best defence against incontinence in old age.</p>
<p>5. Pelvic floor fitness is a vital factor in total fitness.<br />
The pelvic floor muscles are hidden from view and can be a significant weakness in an otherwise healthy toned body. Many women who pride themselves on high levels of aerobic fitness are shocked to find that this important area of their bodies can let them down in their middle years. Ironically female athletes need to pay particular attention to these muscles as their sporting activities place even more stress on the pelvic floor than day-to-day activities. Yet many fitness trainers neglect this area altogether.</p>
<p>Fortunately women can take control of this area of their body for themselves. Pelvic floor fitness needs personal commitment, and access to quality information. But, given these factors, most women can achieve it through a program of exercise, supported when necessary by the use of well-chosen exercise and strengthening products.</p>

Exercise is not only perfect for losing weight, it is also good for keeping a reasonable body weight, for giving a boost on the metabolic rate and also for burning those unwanted excess calories. Exercise also revs up the heart and the lungs&#8217; machinery making them more efficient in doing their natural functions.</p>
<p>Aside from these, exercise also works for strengthening the bones and keeps people looking good and feeling good about themselves. Exercise also gives people the stamina to enable them to keep up with the pace of their lifestyles. Unfortunately, not many people chose to do what is good for them. Most people could not decide exactly what to do when waking up in the morning; whether to exercise or to press the snooze button one more time.</p>
<p>The following tips are very helpful in reaching and maintaining the ideal body weight. This is especially great for women since they get through a lot of things going on in their bodies and are more susceptible to osteoporosis. Not to mention that many women are under the pressure of keeping themselves beautiful. It is recommended that one or two of these tips at a time are incorporated to the work out routine.</p>
<p>Worry not that the exercise routine is not enough. It is important to keep the commitments one makes. Ideally, it is advised to exercise three to five times a week for 20-60 minutes. However, this is not exactly the case in the real world. One should not frustrate herself by aiming for the ideal when she knows for herself that it is utterly impossible. If she an manage it two times a week for twenty minutes per session, that will do just great.</p>
<p>It is best to focus on doing what one knows she can do than to reproach herself for having not done enough. She can start from this point and then progress on afterwards. This should make her feel successful for having kept her commitment to herself.</p>
<p>Weight lifting should always come first. Many women always do cardio exercises first before weight lifting. A disadvantage of this is that it is possible to miss a critical component of the routine and spend all of it on cardio training. A women may notice this by not being able to see results even after devoting long hours at the gym. This can be avoided by reversing the order. This will guarantee visible positive outcome.</p>
<p>Remember to monitor heart rate. It is recommended to exercise at 75-85% of the maximum heart rate. Many people stick with just pumping up only 50% of their maximum heart rate. To ensure that one is working out at the prescribed target heart rate, she should use a heart rate monitor or any exercise equipment with this feature.</p>
<p>Work out for only an hour or less. Doing this will keep one from dreading the gym. Focusing on the exercise and the aim to be accomplished will make each work out session more and more efficient.</p>
<p>Have some sort of fitness social support. Being in a fitness community maybe the important element lacking in your training program. A social support can do amazing wonders and therefore should not be underestimated. It would be helpful to work out in a gym once in while if one customarily does her work outs at home. One can also try classes in activities that have always been interesting such as yoga, pilates or sailing perhaps. One can also join clubs such as a walking club or a running club for instance.</p>
<p>Pep talk yourself. One should not pressure herself too much; rather, it is best to congratulate one&#8217;s self and give out words of encouragement in between exercises. One should never forget to say some positive feedback for herself.</p>
